Oklahoma State sophomore Ryan Smeeton won his 3,000-meter steeplechase semifinal heat in 8:53.71 at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. Smeeton remains the collegiate leader this season entering the final at 8:27.90.
